Today, while perusing macys.com I came across some Junior tops that had me worried... Ladies, I am not a junior size whatsoever. Haven't been that way for a while so I have been out of touch a bit with what the young'uns wear now. But, this weekend when I was watching 'sisterhood of the travelling pants' for the umpteenth time, I really really was digging the clothes that Carmen, aka... Ugly Betty was wearing. Her tops were soo cute! Now I realize this movie was made several years ago but I was honestly trying to find some tops similar to what she was wearing in the movie in shopping centers around here. So far, no such luck... I found a green button up eyelet cotton shirt at Target but that was about as close as I found to what Carmen wore in the movie. In the movie, she's wearing a red cotton short-sleeved button up blouse that is cuuute! But here is what disturbed me...not the fact that I didn't find some Carmen-esque shirts but what I did find in the Juniors department was scary!!!! One model was wearing the image you see above! Now tell me, what Mother in her right mind is going to let her daughter walk out in the mean streets of wherever wearing something like this??? Now I do admit to having grown up in a conservative home. I used to get flack from my mother if I wore a tight t-shirt. But not that I'm trying to explain this all away, however when I was in high school, bands like Sonic Youth were all the rage and that was what the female musicicans wore and those chicks were the girls I looked up to.

So check it out and let me know...Am I being an old fuddy duddy on this or does that Macy's model look like she's ready for a night out on the town??
